Container Logistics / Equipment Management

Role Purpose

The Container Logistics Manager is responsible for managing container equipment flows across the liner network to ensure optimal availability, utilization, and cost efficiency. The role supports vessel operations and commercial commitments by balancing container supply and demand, minimizing empty repositioning, and maintaining effective depot and terminal operations.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Manage container inventory and equipment availability across assigned trades/regions
  • Plan and execute empty container repositioning in line with network requirements
  • Monitor and optimize container utilization, turn time, and dwell time
  • Coordinate closely with vessel operations, network planning, and commercial teams
  • Oversee depot and terminal performance, including repairs, storage, and safety standards
  • Control equipment-related costs, including repositioning, storage, and repair expenses
  • Track and report key performance indicators related to equipment efficiency and availability
  • Support disruption management arising from port congestion, schedule changes, or demand volatility
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in container logistics processes
